Working from home has been my goal since the time I started working with construction bids. I always had a clear thought in mind: it was completely unnecessary to be in the office to do what I did. I had AutoCAD on my computer, Excel, and I didn’t need to talk to anyone to calculate material quantities.

At the time, it was too early for people to understand the benefits of working from home. During my lunch breaks, I often thought, “If I were at home, I could eat something healthier and tastier. I could wear more comfortable clothes and avoid wasting hours stuck in traffic just to get to the office.”

Years later, the pandemic came—and suddenly, everyone had to find a way to work remotely. For me, it was a positive change.

It’s very easy for me to stay focused when I work, and having my office at home suits me well. Of course, things changed after my son was born. In the beginning, it was fine—he was a newborn and slept a lot. But a year later, everything changed. Now he’s a little over two years old, and toddlerhood is a special phase. It’s a mix of fun, stress, love, and exhaustion.

Still, working from home continues to work for me. Sometimes I need to work late into the night to make up for busy days with him, and that’s okay. It’s part of the process—and it won’t last forever.
